Romans 12:1-2 – Paul’s command to “be not conformed to this world” involves more than avoiding obvious sins. Everyday habits, technology, media, consumerism, work, and cultural assumptions can subtly shape Christian thinking and desires. Historically, some have responded to this temptation by completely withdrawing from society. But we are to be in the world – just not of it. The sermon encourages Christians to strive to build resilient families, communities, education, and businesses shaped by biblical values. True non-conformity ultimately requires transformation through the renewing of the mind: examining what shapes our loves, deliberately focusing on Christ, and cultivating Scripture, gratitude, worship, and prayer.
