Psalm 2: The Ascension of Jesus Christ to the Throne Room of God is the most neglected of the major events in the life of Jesus. Yet it is of cosmic significance. It marks the coronation of Jesus, an event where he was given all authority in heaven and earth, and where all nations of the earth were given to him for an inheritance. When the rulers of the earth conspire against him, God laughs and makes fun of them. Then he speaks to them in his wrath. Something like this: Quit the rebellion. The crown has already gone to my son. Continued rebellion will only end in your destruction. Therefore, exercise wisdom. Bow the knee to him, and you will be greatly blessed.
