The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the pivotal point in all history, and God’s decisive declaration to the world. Through the resurrection, God has brought life out of death, hope from hopelessness, and new creation from the old. The Bible does not present the resurrection as something to be debated, but rather as God’s verdict, with people all over the world summoned to believe it and to receive the life, hope, and new creation that it brings. All who accept this declaration and this verdict are new creatures – summoned to live in the light of the resurrection and guaranteed to be raised on the last day.
