The story of the twelve spies in Numbers 13–14 contrasts the fearful report of ten spies with the faithful perspective of Joshua and Caleb. While the majority focused on the giants and fortified cities of Canaan, the two faithful spies trusted God’s promise and saw the abundance of the land – the grapes. The sermon highlights how faith interprets circumstances differently: not by denying real dangers, but by recognising that God’s promises are greater than any obstacle. Applied to modern life, believers are encouraged to face today’s “giants” – political evil, war, tyranny, financial hardships, broken relationships, injustice, illness, and uncertainty – with confidence in God.
